This is due to their image: their lyrics deal with military-historical themes, which are musically underlaid with epic, catchy melodies and are performed live in camouflage colors and a tank that has been converted into a drum kit. One is anyway "controversially discussed", as the singer emphasized several times in the interview. Sabaton never wanted to polarize, especially not against the background of an attack that violated international law. The release date had been set for a long time – but hardly anyone suspected that the global political situation would get so out of hand just a few weeks later.
